What if your ‘imposter syndrome’ is pointing you to the uncomfortable truth that you lack the ability to recognise (and leverage) your own brilliance, experience, skillset, and uniqueness?
What if the only piece that was missing was the practical know-how to do the kind of work you are meant to do?
Before I go on, some important news: The Mentor Training is open for early bird enrolments from today for two weeks only, at a softer price. Get 20% off with the code: EB2024 at checkout. Class starts Monday, April 1. Enrol here.
When you’re experiencing Impostor Syndrome, you’re essentially feeling not good enough, or unworthy, of the success, opportunities, or lifestyle you might be living, or seeking, despite having all the ingredients that are necessary to get the results you want.
Some of the thoughts racing through your head might be:
"Who am I to be offering guidance, advice, and strategies?"
"I’m still learning how to work my freakin’ phone! I don't know enough!"
"My profession isn’t even recognised by mainstream ideals!"
"I’m a fraud."
In doing so you completely disregard the years of experience in your field and the fact that you have successfully lived through many challenges and endeavoured to thrive, with the skillset and resources you have. Not to mention the people that reach out to you asking you for help.
None of that evidence matters when Impostor Syndrome has its hold on you.
Impostor Syndrome is simply fear.
It can prevent you from going after what you truly want, leaving you feeling unfulfilled, frustrated, and sad. It can keep you stuck, timid, and avoidant. It might cause you to postpone a project, undercharge for your work, not apply for an opportunity, sabotage a relationship, etc.
Let’s fast forward.
Imagine that…
It is the end of your life.
You are (hopefully if you are lucky) 100 years old, with cute wispy silver hair, tucked into bed, reflecting upon a century’s worth of dreams, passions, adventures, and a few regrets.
At the end of your life, you say to yourself:
“My God, I am so grateful that I played it safe and never made bold moves towards the contributions I wanted to make to the world and professions I wanted to explore over the course of my life. How wonderful!”
Will you say that?
Probably not.
Deep in your heart, you will know that any fears you had would have been conquered by all the things you would have done.
“The average human lifespan is 39,420,000 minutes if you are lucky. How are you currently spending your life minutes? Where are they going? Are you OK with that?”
If you want to bring your message to the world, and supporting, guiding and holding space for others in both private and group settings is something that lights up your heart, but you aren't sure how The Mentor Training is for you.
Becoming an effective mentor requires a number of personal qualities that include openness, approachability, curiosity, and empathy as well as integrity, self-awareness and the willingness to be honest and kind and have hard conversations.
Becoming a professional mentor also requires training, supervision, and experience.
5 reasons why The Mentor Training is a good fit for you:
TMT offers a Professional Mentor Accreditation through IICT that governs standards in alternative and holistic education modalities. Included are 20+ hours of experience including practice hours as well as mentoring and integration. TMT is also getting accredited by a governing body called IICT
The first topics addressed in TMT are emotional fluency, nervous system support, transference, intuition & integrity to initiate the foundation of embodied leadership. Every part of the training is reviewed to align with our values and mission.
The last two months of the Leadership edition of TMT are intentionally added to give participants time to integrate the teachings and have a space to share everything that is coming up as they start mentoring others and receive support and mentoring from the TMT team leaders.
Many people who call themselves coaches are actually mentors. Technically, as a coach you’re not supposed to give advice or share your learnings, you listen and ask open questions, allowing your client to find their own solutions to the problems they’ve identified so they can reach their chosen goals faster than if they were doing it alone. As a mentor, you give advice, guide and share your personal experience to help your mentee benefit from what you’ve learned. You can read more about the differences in this article.
By joining TMT you become part of a growing community of like-minded people, build relationships, and connections and share profound 'aha' moments with others who also want to make a positive difference in the world.
Early bird enrolment closes on Sunday 25th February, at midnight.
